A working Title

Currently are working title is ‘Our little Secret’. We chose this title to be our working title as we believe that the title has a definite link into our film, as the film is about a very big secret that the two girls Madeline and Lauren are keeping from the rest of the village. Even though the secret they are keeping is indeed a very big one we chose to use the word ‘little’ as we think it creates a more of a mystery and sounds more evil and conniving.  However we have made a survey asking a group of people what title they like the most so this working title could change dependent on their feedback. The other two choices we have given them to choose from are: The Lost Truth and Revealed. However in our group’s opinion we believe that ‘Our Little Secret’ is the most relevant towards our film.

Introduction to Key Characters

In our short film opening we have 3 main characters these are called Madeline, Lauren and Rosie.

Madeline - played by Chloe Grace Moretz. Is a young care free 16 year old. Madeline is a very popular girl at school and has many friends. However her only loyalty’s lie with her best friend Lauren which she shares a very big secret with. Madeline is a very cheeky and cunning girl and has a lot of power over many people. After losing one her best friends when she was very young, Madeline has always been holding stuff back and can at times be very reserved even although it seems to some people she may lead the perfect life.

Lauren – played by Emma Roberts. She is also a very popular girl within her friends at school. She is seen as a very friendly character and would never step a foot out of line. (Or at least we thought so). Lauren is very good friends with Madeline although Madeline does have a lot of power over her.

Rosie – played by Mackenzie Foy. She was best friends with Madeline and Lauren however 5 years aged ago when she was 11 suddenly died which shocked the whole village. Rosie was a lovely sweet and innocent girl and therefore the whole village went into shock when she was suddenly murdered. The mystery of her death was never clear and sadly the case became closed leaving the killer or killers loose. Nothing has been the same since…

Who, What Where, When, Why, How

Who – This referring towards the people in the opening of our film, this being: Madeline (16), Lauren (16) and Rosie (11) 3 young girls who live in the rural village.

What  - A little girl called Rosie had died suddenly around 5 years ago. Lauren and Madeleine have tried to forget about the death but however came across the grave whilst walking home. They are feeling extremely guilty about the whole situation, as they are the only people who know the real truth about Rosie’s mysterious death.

Where  - In a small village called Pucklechurch. It is very old fashioned and the community is extremely small, everyone knows every one. Pucklechurch is surrounded by fields and is very much the countryside. 

When – The film will be set around Christmas time so the setting will be very much winter like. The setting will be in 2012 so the area will be up to date and modern. (Even though the village is old fashioned). There will be no need for us to make this a costume drama.

Why – In the opening we are yet to know why the occurrences have happened however later on within the film it may all become clear. A possible outcome could be that Rosie is out for revenge and to also set the truth free.

How – We are going to produce this by filming using a different range of shots e.g. close ups, mid shots and 180 mid shot just to name a few. Also we will add effects such as added music all adding up to the effect and mystery of the thriller.
